Türk Telekom Ankara is on the verge of writing history with a win in the BKT EuroCup Final. The Turkish team, hosting Bourg in Ankara, is 1-0 up in the series after winning the game in France. If they win at home, history will be made. Regardless of the outcome of the Beşiktaş-Bahçeşehir matchup, Türk Telekom's advancement to the final would mark the first time a Turkish team has made it to the final of the EuroCup. This would be a significant achievement and would also mean that Turkey would have three teams in the EuroLeague next season, placing them in a prestigious group. Spain and France have also achieved this feat. Spain has done it twice, while France has done it once. Specifically, in the 2007-08 season, Joventut Badalona faced Girona, and in the 2016-17 season, Unicaja Malaga faced Valencia. More recently, in the 2023-24 season, Paris Basketball faced Bourg in the French matchup – ironically, the team currently ahead of Türk Telekom is Bourg. Nevertheless, the rarity of this situation is clear, as it shows how difficult it is for two teams from the same country to make it to the final of the EuroCup. Türk Telekom also has unfinished business in the final. The Turkish team lost the 2023 final to Gran Canaria, 71-67. The final was played as a single game, and it was played on Gran Canaria's home court. If Türk Telekom wins this year's final, it would be the first time a Turkish team has won the EuroCup.
